  • READ THIS FIRST – When installing other guest operating systems using VirtualBox, you may need to adjust the memory (RAM), and CPU, which I showed you in this video. If you are creating a Windows or Mac guest OS, you may need to adjust some of the settings higher than you would with Linux. On older computers, you may need to enable virtualization in the Bios. If you are experiencing issues with adjusting the size of the guest OS as shown in the video, you may need to install the "Guest Additions" for VirtualBox. Here's a link to the instructions. https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E36500_01/E36502/html/qs-guest-additions.html Thanks for watching 🙂

  • question. Does the VM get saved as a large file on your system with Virtual Box or are some parts scattered around the computer? I realized this is the case with Parallels Desktop, which is annoying. I like to back-up the VM file to a disk and restore it whenever I need it.

  • Just a note for people trying out Linux distros, if you're having issues with freezing or crashing, try disabling the 3D acceleration. It's more of a Windows feature anyway.
