Top 10 Outlook Free Add-ins

Did you know that Outlook has add-ins? You can load add-ins from the Outlook menu if you have Office 365 and an Exchange account. This will not work with POP3 or IMAP accounts. If you have Office 365 then you probably are using an Exchange email account and can load these add-ins. Here is a list of the top 10 free Outlook add-ins that I have found.

  • Just came across your video; very good. One observation here, if someone uses multiple email accounts with Outlook, it appears each Add-in has to be added in each account it is to be used with. I have not found an option to load the Add-in globally. If this setting is buried somewhere, please let me know, thanks.

  • Most of these features are already in Gmail standard now and you can add and use extensions like Grammarly for free. I find Outlook so outdated as it hasn't really changed since 2010. Gmail Smart Compose makes writing an email take just seconds with its very clever prediction vs 30 minutes in Outlook 2019. Also updates Outlook gets take backwards.

  • pretty useless if your corporate environment doesn't use Exchange then or you are developing spreadsheets which might be used in either an Exchange or non-Exchange environment. Really, Microsoft should develop stuff which can be used throughout the user base of Excel.

  • Can't make the Get Add-ins active.

First, you have to add a Custom group under Home (Mail).

You can't just ADD>> the command to the menu.

Then you can see the faded grey icon of the Get Add-ins in Outlook, but you can't access it.
